The boys finally got a friendly played having had previous matches cancelled due to poor weather.
They went head to head with a Renton team who had beaten them twice in the previous season and had gone close to winning the league.
The team played well and played some good football at times throughout the game, We included a few new faces present as trialists and even with their inclusion the team seemed strong and fit.
Ross Campbell came into the game for a tiring Brian Hood (trialist) and made an almost instant impact on the game leaving the Renton defence behind with his pace and smashing the ball past the opposition keeper.
Ross also scored the second linking well with Stuart Knox in midfield, before another emphatic finish.
Substitutions saw the team fall out the game and allow Renton to put some pressure on for the first time in the match, But fail to threaten until a misjudgement Danny Court gifted renton a lifeline.
Renton took heart from this and pressured for an equaliser and finally got one as the defence tired.
Several of the Starting 11 were put back into the game to search for a winning start to the season, and Momo came up with the answer firing in the winner with a few minutes to go.
The game provided a good test for the boys who will have another match next Saturday at the same Venue opposition has still to be arranged.
